THE PROSPERITY OF GOD'S WORD: GOD'S WORD CANNOT FAIL
Text: Isaiah 55:10–11
10 — For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 — So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
The Power Behind God's Word
One of the most powerful gifts humans possess is the gift of words. It is used in communication; leaders use it to give instructions or enforce authority, judges use it to pass judgment, and in many other ways.
It doesn't matter who is talking; the weight of what they say is measured by the power or capacity of who is saying it.
If humans' words are taken into consideration because of whatever abilities are in their possession, now imagine God's Word.
God's Word has the ability not to fail because it can't fail. The ability of words spoken is determined by who the speaker is.
And when the speaker is God, there is no higher authority.
God's Word Cannot Fail
In the Scriptures, there are many places where God emphasises the capacity of His Word to never fail. But to make it more understandable for human minds, the anchor Scripture uses an analogy to describe the prosperity of God's Word.
The analogy is rain.
Rain can't fall and, along the line, the water suddenly starts going back without touching the ground. The moment the cloud is formed and the water starts coming down, there's nothing on earth or anywhere that can stop those droplets from touching the ground, except the source stopped releasing them.
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE.
That's exactly God's Word.
The force backing God's Word can't be stopped by any power on earth or in heaven. Whatever He says, there is absolute power that backs it up until the words deliver exactly what they were sent to do.
The Word of God Will Accomplish Its Purpose
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD'S WORD TO RETURN TO HIM VOID.
This is why it is certain that what God says about you will be fulfilled.
There might be challenges, trials, and tests—so much that it scares you and brings doubt as regards what God has said about you.
You may look at your present circumstances and wonder how God's promise will ever come to pass. You may feel like the situation is becoming too difficult and that the Word you received is taking too long to become a reality.
Hear this: If He has said it, those words are backed up by divine forces that cannot be defeated until it is done.
God's Word does not depend on the strength of your circumstances. It depends on the faithfulness and power of the One who spoke it.
Don't Give Up on God's Word
Don't give up.
Keep trusting.
Keep believing.
Keep praying.
God is faithful, and His Word will prosper in your life.
Just as the rain waters the earth and causes it to bring forth and bud, God's Word will accomplish the purpose for which He sent it.
What God has spoken may not always happen according to your preferred timing or in the way you imagined, but you can trust the God who spoke the Word.
His Word cannot fail.
CONFESSION
I will not give up; God is too faithful to renege on His Word. What He has said about me will prosper in my life and accomplish His purpose, in Jesus' name. Amen.
