BE WARY OF FALSE MINISTERS

Text: 2 Corinthians 11:13–15

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

One of the powers of the devil is deception. In fact, it ranks high among his traits of operation since the beginning. He deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, and since then, he has been deceiving careless believers.

I queried in my heart why, till now, the devil still gets away with his deception even when we know that is his trademark. We know he's the father of lies and when he lies, he's speaking his language, but yet so many believers still fall for his trap.

We give him so much pass, while he doesn't deserve attention from us. The Bible also warned us to be careful lest we fall into his trap.

Why Do Believers Fall for False Ministers?

The reason many fall for the devil's schemes is because he has mastered the act of transforming as an angel of light.

The anchor scripture established that Paul wrote that even the devil can transform as an angel of light and also his ministers as ministers of light.

This is exactly why the devil gets a pass for his deceptive act.

Listen, not every prophet is sent by God, not every apostle is ordained by God, and not every teacher is commissioned to teach God's Word.

As God commissions His ministers, the devil also, through his demons, commissions ministers who can pretend as ministers of light.

Test the Spirits

That is the reason every child of God must be careful of who they listen to, who lays hands on them, and who they submit to.

And it is at this point that we must practically follow what the Scriptures say in 1 John 4:1:

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

Ensure that you know God's Word. Study God's Word so that you can test all spirits, all prophecies, all teachings, and all.
