KEY TO ANSWERED PRAYER 2
Text: James 1:5–8
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Prayer is a vital part of our lives as believers in Christ Jesus, and we must get it right so that we can begin to live a life that pleases God seamlessly, rather than struggling with it.
There is a relief when you ask God for anything, and you know that He's going to do it because you've asked in His will; it's easier when you stand before a locked door, but you're holding the key to it.
One Major Key to Answered Prayer: Faith
One major key to answered prayer is faith!
While faith is the basis of our lives as a child of God, it's very important when conversing with God, because the Bible says before we come before God, we must believe that He is and He's a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 says:
"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."
The anchor scripture sheds more light on this matter: everyone who comes to God and then he's not sure if God is going to do what he'll ask Him of, such a man can't receive from Him.
James said a man that doubts can't receive anything from God because he's not stable. I dare to say a man that doubts is just a gambler; he's not sure what will happen but ends up doing it.
God isn't running a gambling show, and so He requires faith to even communicate with Him.
You're certain that God will do whatever you ask of Him since it's about His will, since it's about His project and also aligns with His timing.
To even know God's will, it has to be a product of faith, and so it is important that we keep our hearts in absolute trust in God and a firm demonstration of our faith in Him.
Do You Really Have Faith in God?
Do you really have faith in Christ?
Are you certain about His ability and your coming in that strength of your knowledge of Him?
Without faith, you can't please God, as you can't get Him to communicate with you.
Beloved, faith is a major key to answered prayer. When you come before God, come with absolute trust in Him, knowing who He is and trusting His ability to answer according to His will and timing.
Prayer
Lord, You know me more than I know myself. I want to trust Your name wholeheartedly; just help me and help my faith in Jesus' name.
