Topic: THE LORD OUR ADVANCER 

Text: 1 Samuel 12:5-6

5 - And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.
6 - And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

God has been given so many names in the Bible and some of the times it came as a result of their encounter with him. Also, men have tried so many times to try to see if their efforts can make them succeed in life, and over time, it's been proven that it is God who brings increase. I once asked a question during a Bible study I took, whether it was a guarantee that when a student reads and prepares well for an exam he will pass, after much deliberation, we came to the conclusion that it's not, because many other factors can come in and disrupt the student, even death. So it is God!

Samuel addressing the Israelites ensured he reminded the nation that they should never make any mistake that Moses and Aaron were the ones running the show during their deliverance from Egypt, but it was God who was advancing them. God was the one advancing their cause and their journey. What it means is that it was God that's as behind the ideas and the execution, it was God who prospered their enterprise. 

Beloved, it's always safe and relaxing when you know that it is God who can advance you, it keeps you away from running beyond God. Many have compared their journey with others just because they do not know who is advancing them. The question this morning is, who is advancing you or what is advancing you? God has the capacity to work in you, both the willing and the doing, he can carry you and bear you in his hands. When you know this, all you need to do is always rely on him for every move because it's certain that he will advance you.

You should pray now and just explain to God to help you see him as your great advancer.
