Topic: ARE YOU AWARE OF GOD?



Text: Judges 6: 11-14

11 - And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
12 - And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13 - And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
14 - And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

It's dangerous, scary, and painful to have something important in one's hand, yet a man is unaware of it and goes around begging for it. A man can suffer greatly for what he already has if he doesn't know he possesses it, and many are in this position, running from pillar to post, seeking what they already have.

Reading through the scriptures above, the angel of God told Gideon that the Lord was with him and referred to him as a man of valour, it reflects the mindset of God towards the young man, but not just that, the angel said the Lord was with him. Meaning, he's accompanied by God, it wasn't just a salutation but it was a reality of God's presence in his life. However, Gideon didn't know, he raised questions about the problem at hand, and couldn't believe he had the presence of God with him.

Gideon lamented about the suffering and troubles that he felt only the lack of God's presence could cause, he didn't know that in all of these troubles and suffering, God was indeed with him. The magnitude of what he was going through must have created an atmosphere of the absence of God around him. 

God is not far from you, beloved. He's with you, and ready to help you. What you're going through isn't an indication that God has abandoned you, and your present challenges are also not a sign of God's absence. Don't allow the enemy to cheat you, don't permit your troubles to veil you and dull your eyes of understanding, it's God that makes all things work together for good for those that he loves. Are you aware of God's presence in your life, he promised that he will be with you when you walk through the fire. Be of good cheer, God is with you!

It's natural when people work and live together to have offences, and it's going to happen so many times, to live and enjoy our relationship, we must learn to let go of offenses no matter how extremely bad it may be.
