Topic: SECRET OF PURITY 2

Text: 1John 3:1-3

1 - Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 - And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

As discussed yesterday, purity is one attribute that we can describe God with, and it's a demand God has placed on us by his grace. Every child of God must access this grace and be as pure as God. So, it becomes imperative to know what the secrets of purity are. One major one we looked at yesterday was God's word. 

What other thing can ensure that a man accesses God's grace for purity? John made it so interesting. What a man is hopeful for, he prepares for it. In fact, we can know the state of our hearts once we observe what we're preparing for. 

In our anchor scripture, John could not hold back his expectations about seeing God face to face, because there's an assurance that when we behold him, we will be exactly like him, and this great desire made him say boldly in verse 3 that
 
"And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." 

If this is the state of your heart, that you're expecting the second coming of Christ, you are constantly imagining the glory of that day and the reality of finally seeing God in his majesty, and you will purify yourself. You will become conscious of this and live a life that reflects this great hope. 

Perhaps the reason you don't feel it's great to live that life is that you're not expecting his coming, you are not looking forward to it, or you don't fully understand what it means to behold God face to face in his glory.

What you hoped for will shape the state of your heart.

DAILY DIVINE WORD  Wednesday, 8th July 2026 Topic : LET IT GO Text : Colossians 3:13-14 13 - Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 - And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. It's natural when people work and live together to have offences, and it's going to happen so many times, to live and enjoy our relationship, we must learn to let go of offenses no matter how extremely bad it may be. While every child of God must strive to avoid offending people through our words and actions, we must also note that each time we are offended, the right response is to let go.  Is forgiveness a difficult thing to do?
