THE LIGHT OF LIFE

Text: John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Life can be so complicated that nothing would matter anymore; it can be so confusing that the only word to describe such a situation is darkness. When a man's life seems to be going in a direction with no conviction or assurance of anything good happening ahead, it can be said that such a person works in darkness. Whenever there's darkness, there's no form, there's emptiness and chaos; it's a miserable life to walk in darkness.

No matter how smart a man can be, how creative and innovative a man can be, without light, he's a confused man. He may have all the wealth in this world; however, if a part of his life lacks light, he lives a miserable life.

Light is an important and necessary part of a successful journey here on earth, and Jesus said there's such a thing as THE LIGHT OF LIFE, and those who possess this can not walk in darkness. It is an advantage because they walk circumspectly, walk with conviction, and have absolute peace, knowing what lies ahead and where they are heading.

However, to have this light, it's important to pay attention to what Jesus said; it is only for those who follow him because he's the light of the world. So, it's just natural to have the light of life because you're closely following the light of the world.
What does it mean to follow? It means accepting the way of Christ, obeying him, committing to his instructions and trusting his moves. It means living his life, doing exactly what he's doing and putting your feet exactly where he puts his. Anyone who follows will never walk in darkness.

The confusion you are in now, you need the light of life; the complications and problems you have now, you need the light of life. Make it right today with Christ and begin to follow him; you will have light for your journey.
