: CAN GOD'S WORD BE MOCKED?

Text: Luke 8: 49-56

49 - While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
50 - But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
51 - And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
52 - And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
53 - And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
54 - And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
55 - And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
56 - And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

Nothing is constant in life, because even the earth will pass away, so, the earth itself is temporal. However, something outside the world, yet with us, is constant, and nothing can change it: that is GOD'S WORD. The certainty of God's word is also not subjective; it's either men align with it for fulfilment or they don't align and fulfil without it, but the constant is that God's word will always find fulfilment.

Jesus was mocked in our Scripture for today, while other choose to believe what is factual to them at the moment, Jesus was speaking from a place of truth which is God's word (John 17:17), while the fact was that the maidservant of Jarius was indeed dead, Jesus told them she was sleeping but in verse 53, the Bible says he was mocked and scorned, they laughed at him while they thought he was a joke. But that doesn't define God's word, Jesus went ahead and the word found expression for his fulfilment.

It's possible that you are being mocked, maybe because your ministry seems crawling, or your marriage isn't coming or you're waiting for the fruit of the womb or anything at all, the question is this: what has God said to you? If you are holding on to God's word because he has spoken to you, don't allow mockery to deter you from our belief in those promises because they're going to come to pass. Examine what Jesus did when he was mocked in verse 54

"And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise."

He put them all out, he ignored them, he disassociated himself from those noises, he concentrated only on what God's word says and there was performance.

The mockery is meant to rob you, distract you and put your back on the ground, just put them all out, hold God by his words and you shall see performance.
GOD'S WORD CANNOT FAIL!
