TOPIC: BE IN CHARGE
TEXT: Acts.24.16 :
Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men. (AMP)
It is often a discussion between people especially young minds in the church of what should be their reaction or part to play in God's finished work through Christ Jesus. The truth is that, God through his son Jesus Christ has completed everything that is left to be done, he is coming back to perfect the glory when he comes to take us home, so the honest truth is that, Christ did all these without our effort. Does that means we have nothing to do again once we give our lives to Christ? No. Christ gave us a life, and our part to play is to live the life!
It's our responsibility to live the life Christ has freely given to us, it our part to play this life consciously through our knowledge of him. Apostle Paul in the text above clearly explained how he made it an intentional act to live the life. He completely took charge of the life, and made an intentional effort to see that as much as he pleases God with his life, he made his conscience clean even in dealing with fellow men. He said he exercise himself and discipline himself, why? Because he want to please God and live a life with free conscience with all men.
God has perfected the life he freely gave to you, owns that life, live the life according to his word, take charge! Be responsible for the life given to you. Live the life with an understanding that hundreds of people look up to you, you can't afford to live carelessly, while you need to please God with your life, you need to also see that your conscience is always pure as regards how you live your life. Take charge!
THINK TANK: Be responsible with how you live!
PRAYER: Father, help me to take charge through your words, the life entrusted into my hand in Jesus Name.
